Catalina Part 2

My Catalina Wandering continues… Yesterday I posted about its history – today I want to share more of our time on the island.

This is our darling digs for the weekend – a cute little gambrel roof cottage embellished with smooth river rock

The front door sported a ships porthole.

Inside, the brickwork was artistically placed around this unusual window.

I fell in love with this mobile, created by a local artist I suspect.

The risers were embellished with local tile – how cool is that and I found the same art piece offered at a local shop – those fish are made of colored glass, and let me tell you, it was a bit pricey.

There isn’t much room for cars on this tiny island so most putt around on golf carts or as you can see… minis

This unique lamp stopped me dead in my tracks!  I just had to go inside …that’s the purpose of styling & display, no?

This was my favorite surprise – nestled between two shops.

I loved browsing through the shops and wandering through the streets snapping pics while my husband was at the field watching endless rugby matches (I think I had more fun).
This little island is definitely a favorite getaway for many – golfing, yachting, scuba diving and so much more…

So where is your favorite getaway?

  1. Cyndi this looks like a perfect getaway. I don’t know that I have a favorite place. But right now, I would love to be in a place like Catalina.
